Looking for a Quality Supervisor with a food background to join an influential department, ensuring the quality of food meets the required standards.

Plans to develop and change how food quality is tested means that this is a truly exciting role and a great opportunity to manage a key team within Production.

The objective of the Quality department is to ensure that food quality is maintained to the high standards expected, reducing customer complaints and making sure customers receive great food. This role will be key to delivering that by resolving issues quickly and making sure the Technicians know what is expected of them and are able to drive improvements forward.

On a day to day basis the challenges will be: organising a high workload, developing new systems and suggesting ideas for improvements, liasing with multiple departments, reducing product on hold, monitoring and reducing the level of customer complaints. With over 800 product lines there is a lot of information to process and manage and the individual will need to keep fully aware of product quality issues, trials, raw material issues, and production processes within the factory so being organised will be key.

The role holder will liase with many people across the factory, from all Production staff, to NPD and the customer complaints team so good communication skills are essential as is a sound knowledge of Microsoft programs. You will be expected to taste products. The role reports to the Quality Manager and supervises two technicians. This role will be suited to someone able to forge strong working relationships, passionate about food, with experience of managing a team.

Radiation Protection Adviser

One of the leading organisations that is crucial to the UK’s defence capabilities have a requirement for a Radiation Protection Adviser based in Berkshire.

The successful applicant will provide advice and guidance to all personnel within their area of responsibility as defined by Head of Radiation Protection to ensure compliance with the requirements of the regulations contained within the Ionising Radiations Regulations 1999 (IRR99) and letter of appointment as a Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA) and terms of reference in support of programme delivery at the organisation.

Key accountabilities
· Provision of advice with regard to matters set out in Schedule 5 of IRR99, specifically:
o The implementation of requirements as to controlled and supervised areas
o The prior examination of plans for installations and the acceptance into service of new or modified sources of ionising radiation in relation to any engineering controls, design features and warning devices provided to restrict exposure to ionising radiation
o The regular calibration of equipment provided for monitoring levels of ionising radiation and regular checking that such equipment is serviceable and correctly used
o The periodic examination and testing of engineering controls, design features, safety features and warning devices and regular checking of systems of work provided to restrict exposure to ionising radiation

o The risk assessment required by regulation 7
o The designation of controlled and supervised areas as required by regulation 16

Key accountabilities
