With our Armed Forces shedding more staff, retraining is vital.

So why are £1000s worth of training credits still going unclaimed? To encourage our Forces personnel to claim what they are entitled to, NITLC are offering special discounts on all career courses for anyone attending their January open day.

The coalition Government has announced more and more Forces cutbacks. Over the next 4 years 17,000 positions from our Forces will be cut and on top of that increasing numbers are leaving the services. Taking advantage of all the funds on offer for training is therefore a must.

NITLC understand this more than your average training company as the founder, the late Ryan Parker, set up the business in 1992 after finishing his service in the RAF. NITLC continues to be closely linked to the Forces as both the current Chairman and Secretary have served with the RAF.

Obtaining further qualifications is essential for gaining employment in today’s tough climate. ELC credits can be used for all sorts of training, but IT is a wise choice for a secure future. A recent report issued by the e-skills council found that the number of advertised vacancies for IT staff rose for the third consecutive quarter to 86,000 positions, even as recruitment activity declined across the economy as a whole. This means there is an increasing need for IT professionals across the board.

National IT Learning Centre are holding a Forces Open Day on Saturday January 8th at their head office in Nottinghamshire. This offers the opportunity to look around the facilities, chat to a Careers Advisor, and meet some of the staff. Special offers and discounts will be available to those who attend. “We know how important it is to have a career plan when you leave the Forces. I hope this Forces specific open day will enable those looking for, or thinking about an IT career to benefit from information about the different areas of the IT industry open to them. It will also be an opportunity to explore the funding options for Forces personnel” said Susan Parker, NITLC’s Chairman. She continued “Knowing how important the ELC credits are for funding, we have structured some of our higher level courses to fit into the ELCAS payments scheme, making it as straightforward as possible to apply for funding. Information about all this will be on hand on January 8th”.

For more information on the IT courses offered by NITLC please visit www.nitlc.com or email david@nitlc.com.
