This fantastic news of Surf Action successfully winning the ‘Peoples Millions Big Lottery Fund’ of £49,960, means their great work in supporting veterans suffering from PTSD & physical injuries can not only be enhanced, but enables them to reach out to more of our deserved veterans..
We felt it fitting to follow up from the news article we posted with the result of the vote and a few words from the Director, Rich Emerson, himself a Gulf War Vet and long time sufferer of PTSD.
“We are delighted to have won the Peoples Millions Big Lottery Fund £49,960 and will continue the great work supporting veterans suffering from PTSD and physical injuries.
Surf Action would like to thank everyone who voted for them, all those who gave their time and efforts to help us spread the word. So many people went out on a cold day and encouraged people to vote for our worthy cause. Thanks to Plus Print, Gul Wetsuits, Sunset Surf Cafe and Gemini Forces for their generosity and support throughout the past year and especially during this campaign.
It was a great day and we are so pleased to have won. We would also like to congratulate the Furry Cafe in Helston who won the runners up prize. We look forward to the New Year when we shall be holding lots more surf camps and launching our Charity 'Combat Surfers'.
Please do follow our progress at our website and join our facebook group to see regular updates, photos and event information.”
