Staffordshire's JCB engine project creates 350 jobs

Staffordshire based JCB is creating more than 350 jobs as part of a new £31 million engine development project.
The Rocester based firm said it would recruit more than 300 people across its Staffordshire, Derbyshire and Wrexham factories between 2016 and 2021.
The company said it was also currently recruiting for 50 jobs at JCB Power Systems in Foston.
JCB was given £4.5m towards the cost of the new project from the Government's Regional Growth Fund (RGF).
'Competitive edge'
Chief executive Alan Blake said: "The announcement to invest £31 million developing our next generation engine is an important step in building on the success we have enjoyed so far.
"The new JCB engine will give our products a huge competitive edge across global markets which we anticipate will lead to substantially increased sales between 2016 and 2021.
"That rise in demand will result in the creation of an additional 300 positions at our UK factories in addition to almost 50 engineering roles we are recruiting for immediately."
Earlier in the year JCB said it would be investing £20m in its 11 UK factories.
