Something for the weekend Sir – Part III

Friday December 3, 2010 at 8:58am

Well we lost the bid, gaining one vote, we can’t include our own; football is not coming home till at least 2030! As much as people may want too, we can’t blame the BBC’s Panorama programme about alleged corruption with FIFA delegates, not that I watched the report, but if it was a viable factorial investigation by journalists that has any truth, then it needed to be broadcast….Or should it!?

I’m sure the snow has caused a lot of problems for so many of our members and I will therefore decline to joke about the issues surrounding quite an unprecedented problem, this extreme, at this time of year.

So as we come to the end of another unusual week here in the UK, some stories to put a smile on your face, make you laugh or at least get you ready for the weekend!

Quick thank you to Richard for posting his comment last week, let’s hope it generates more!?

  • ‘Blundering police 'ate court evidence' after buying pizzas meant for torture suspects’ Telegraph
  • ‘Faulty GPS tells Polish soldiers in Afghanistan they are in Africa’ Telegraph
  • ‘Cheesy Stilton beer has 'unique taste' The Metro
  • 'Gardener fined for yodelling too loudly!' A gardener has been fined £700 for offending his Muslim neighbours by yodelling loudly during their call to prayer. The Metro

If any of our member’s fancy writing a regular BLOG I would be more than happy to hear from you, email me on dominic@geminiforces.co.uk

Keep warm and have another great weekend!

What I saw of the pitches made during the bid - especially Prince William's - were utterly dire so I'm not hugely surprised. On the plus side, though, at least we won't have to foot the bill for sending all our football hooligans abroad during the games: well, we ban them from travelling to watch games overseas, so surely we'd have sent them away somewhere during the country's hosting?!?!? ;-)...
