Forces Recruitment Service

Friday April 24, 2009 at 7:30am

It was interesting to find that, when 'googleing' Forces Recruitment, the other day, I found FRS www.forcesrecruitment.com about 5 times in the top 20 results, this included the top two, I also found other organisations such as defence jobs, 4exmilitary, demob job and force 10 recruitment all featuring quite high up in the results, so I began to wonder how they do it, not being an expert in this area I called Mark Reynolds at Zarr Ltd, who advised posting a BLOG (approx 250 words) twice a week that featured the words Forces Recruitment, he said that using these words would create interest by robots, I wonder?

Of course, the subject also poses the question of who browses for what when looking for a Recruitment Consultancy that specialises in placeing ex forces people, when I look further, I find that the following all bring similar results:

  • ex forces
  • ex forces recruitment
  • ex military vacancies
  • ex army
  • ex armed forces
  • ex military
  • ex military personnel
  • recruiting ex military
  • ex military jobs

and the list goes on and on.........................

We naturally already have all of these keywords included in our site and any that were not there are now, but we are still not featured in the top results when searching for any of them, why? and what can we do without paying a fortune to some organisation over promising and under delivering?

I would welcome feedback from anyone who reads this with an opinion as to how we can improve our ratings on search engines such as 'google' especially when searching Forces Recruitment Services.

Doing a 'google' search for Ex-military recruitment specialist puts Gemini on page 2, searching ex-military recruitment puts it on page 6. any other type of search as suggested, seems to loose Gemini totaly, I gave up looking after page 20. I know there are ways to keep a site on pages 1 and 2 of google, not so sure about other search engines. I have to get in touch with some contact, mainly in the states who are more upto speed on these matters. as soon as i can find this information for you I'll post it. P.S no need to put this on the blog....

Ok I've done some searching in relation to this site via google. There are a lot of different ways to make the site a high profile site, in other words get it on the first page of google search almost every time, with out paying the sponsor fee. The best advise I can give is to check out the Google WebmasterTools, do a quick search for them, register and use the information provided to boost the sites profile. One of the thinks I did notice is links, mainly links from other sites to here, at present there is only one. Site profiling is a very specific area of expertise/knowledge and to be honest there is no real 'one hit' answer, it appears to be a combination of a lot of factors. I hope this site is able to increase it's profile as there are a lot of ex forces personnel out there that need a helping hand from time to time, main one being the realisation that your not alone....
